Thanksgiving Day celebrations

Surround an elder with friendship this Thanksgiving!

The warm hug from a family member you haven't seen in a while. The aroma of a favorite dish baking in the oven. What feelings does Thanksgiving evoke for you? For so many of us, it's a joyful holiday filled with festive fun, fabulous food, and—most importantly—family and friends.

But so many Chicago seniors spend Thanksgiving alone. They might microwave a frozen pot pie or heat up some soup, but it's nothing compared to a table surrounded by loved ones.

A small gift goes a long way to give a Happy Thanksgiving to a Chicago senior.

Phyllis, who is 71, shared her experience celebrating with Little Brothers since her husband passed away:

"The holidays can be exciting and happy. Or they can be depressing if you don't have anyone to be with...I know about that. When I came to Little Brothers, I felt like I was part of a new family. I feel happy and accepted when I'm with you."

More than 550 Chicago elders are counting on us this Thanksgiving for transportation to a gathering, which includes a family-style meal, and live music. Your generosity with a gift today will ensure a day filled with friendship, food, and warm memories for seniors across Chicago.

Thank you for spreading Thanksgiving joy!
