Whom We Serve

Serving Isolated Elderly in Chicago

We serve Chicagoans 70 years of age and older who are without meaningful, social or family contacts.

Isolation and loneliness may become a problem as we age.  Spouses may pass on.  Retirement from work may end connections with friends in the workplace.  Moving from a long-time home may cut connections with friends from the neighborhood.  Children may move away.  Friends may retire to warmer locations.  Medical problems, financial challenges, and loss of hearing or mobility may compound a sense of isolation and loneliness.

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly offers a variety of social programs and activites which are free to the seniors. All of our programs are designed to help our elders make new friends and continue to build relationships with volunteers and staff.

We respect each elder as an individual, offering each elder a lifetime commitment of companionship and caring, an audience for self-expression, and a network of friends.

If you or someone you know would benefit from our programs – refer an elder.
