Refer an Elder
Do you know of an elderly Chicagoan living alone? Is there a homebound elder near you who never has any visitors? Do you see the same elderly person sitting in the park with no one to talk to and share the day?
To become one of our Old Friends, one must simply be a Chicago resident, 70 or more years of age, with limited social contacts or nearby family members.
We serve English and Spanish-speaking elders and have bilingual volunteers and staff who are more than happy to visit and help.
If you know of a senior who would benefit from our services, or if you are an elder in the population we serve, please contact us. Once we have been contacted, we will telephone you to gather information, then, if appropriate, send a professional to the home of the elder to ensure that they are eligible and wish to participate in our programs.
For elderly living outside Chicago, Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly has chapters in Boston, Cincinnati, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Omaha, Philadelphia, San Francisco and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Houghton County).
