Relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly

Volunteers and staff visit elders in their homes, bringing the warmth of friendship directly to elders with one-on-one home visits. Visiting Volunteers build friendships with elders over time, sharing the activities that friends share, like going out to lunch, a shopping trip, or a visit to a museum.
As some elders are no longer able to leave their homes, a shared cup of coffee while viewing some favorite photos or reminiscing about the past can improve an elder’s outlook and reduce social isolation. During home visits, elders and volunteers listen, share, and assist with small tasks that improve quality of life for that elder.
